Executive function is a term for a broad range of mental processes that allow you to plan, focus attention, remember things and juggle multiple tasks.

These include:
- making plans
- problem solving
- starting and stopping tasks
- making decisions in our own interests

Basically everything that can be termed "adulting" is executive function

People with ADHD and/or autism can struggle with executive dysfunction.
