6.3b Use a condiment drawer in your fridge to stop vegetables going off

The condiment drawer is a way of utilising visual cues or reminders in the fridge to prevent food going off.

Instead of putting all your fresh vegetables in a drawer (where they'e out of sight and out of mind) put your condiments in the drawer instead. Your bottles of sauces and jars of pickles and relishes etc. The reasoning is that if you want these items, you're going to be looking for them anyway. You don't need a visual reminder that they exist.

With the condiments in a drawer, that frees up the shelves in the door for your fresh produce. Where they are less likely to go off because the'll be in your line of sight almost every time you go in the fridge.
