93 PERCENT STARDUST

We have calcium in our bones,
iron in our veins,
carbon in our souls,
and nitrogen in our brains.
93 percent stardust,
with souls made of flames,
we are all just stars
that have people names.

This was the very first Nikita Gill poem I ever read, the one that got me interested in poetry again.

I want to see a citation on the claim that we're 93% stardust though. Where else did our atoms come from, if not from stars? Nuclear fission inside stars is the only way we know of to get elements heavier than hydrogen. Maybe we're 7% hydrogen.
