Steep one
- Dry leaves had a very classic "green tea" scent
- brewed up into a pale yellow liquor with an almost savoury scent
- refreshing sip with vegetal, umami flavour up front
- i can taste the notes that might become bitter, but they're not there yet
- might drop the temp for the next brew
Steep two
- same pale gold liquor as before, less pronounced scent
- seems sweeter right off the bat
- a little bit of astringency but not unenjoyable
- refreshing and drinkable, but I don't know that I'd reach for this tea over others
I thought at first that this classic green tea just wasn't for me. Then I figured out that I enjoyed the second steep much more that the first steep and started rinsing it first. Once I did that I was much happier with it. So much so I legitimately took a sip and exclaimed "that's a good cup of tea!"
